John G. Simpson Obituary
85, Altoona, formerly of Patton, passed away at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Patton, the son of the late John and Florence (Beck) Simpson. John married, Marlene Stewart. John is survived by his loving wife; two sons: Jeffrey Simpson (Karen) of Mechanicsburg and Sean Simpson (Sandra) of Germany; a daughter, Betsy Solomon (Kelly) of Dillsburg; six granddaughters; a brother, David Simpson of New Kensington and a sister, Alma Sorokes of Bradford. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Cora Mae Wike and Joanne Simpson. John was veteran of the US Navy. He retired after 37 years of service as the Bank Manager of what is now 1st Commonwealth Bank of Patton. John was a member of Buckhorn Bible Church, the Patton Chamber of Commerce, the Mason's Patton Lodge and was a volunteer fireman. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
