Hastings, Pennsylvania - KELLY - Joseph Harry, 80, of Hastings, died Monday, June 2, 2025, at his home. Born in Spangler on Oct. 20, 1944, he was a son of the late Harry Kelly and Louise (Carl) Kelly. He was the husband of Susan (Colbert) Kelly, whom he married Sept. 9, 1988. Joe graduated from Cambria Heights High School. He had previously attended the former Hastings-Elder High School and the St. Benedict School in Hastings. He was the fourth generation owner and operator of his family's 150-year-old business, R.H. Kelly & Son Monuments in Hastings, where he treated his customers with gentle kindness and dignity. Many have reflected on Joe's past, referring to him as a fair and honest business man. He was a member of the Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church, where he served as an usher and coached the church softball team. As a sports enthusiast, he also coached youth baseball and served as an umpire in Hastings. He loved playing tennis, basketball, softball, and golf and watched most of the Pirates and Steelers games on TV. He loved cars of any kind, and often regaled everyone with stories of his teenage years driving his 1965 Plymouth Belvedere. Joe and Susan loved spending time with their family and friends, being outdoors, and traveling. They enjoyed visits to England, Alaska, throughout many parts of the lower 48 states, and of course, cruising in the Caribbean. In addition to his wife of 36 years, Joe is remembered by his children: Eric Fritz (Melissa), Hastings; Kristen Hollenback, Hastings; Brian Kelly (Sheri), Crozet, VA; and Nichole McCombie (Thomas). Johnstown. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Patrick Kelly of Williamsburg, VA,; and by his many nieces, nephews, cousins. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lori; and by brothers: Paul, Raymond and Randall Kelly. Visitation is Friday morning, June 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church, 3429 Elton Road, Johnstown. His funeral service will start at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Tustin and Pastor James Gay, officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery, Hastings. Memorial donations may be made to the Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church. Service arrangements are with Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, Indiana, PA.
