Nicktown, PA - MORRIS - Karen "Cookie" E., 80, Nicktown, passed away Jan. 14, 2026, at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born July 29, 1945, in Spangler, the daughter of Thomas and Grace (Trout) States. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Sandra States, Shirley Boyer and Patricia Farrell; and son-in-law, David Talerico. Survived by daughters, Debra Talerico, Northern Cambria; Jacquelyn (Lee) Good, Heilwood; and Sandra (Brian Sr.) Winning, Colver; grandchildren, Trace and Emerson Winning, Kaitlyn (Stone) Greene, Brian (Kim) Winning, Abby Winning, and Gavin Good; and great-grandchildren, Kolton, Logan, Connor and Maeve. Sister of Audrey Kopylec, Tucker States, Kenneth States, Linda Evanchick, and Bonnie Shultz. Karen retired after working many years as a nursing assistant at Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home. She spent her retirement watching and being "Grammie Cookie" to Trace and Emerson, who she adored. Family and friends will be received from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, Pastor Paul Demi, officiating. Interment, McDowell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an organization she supported, Cambria Township Volunteer Fire Company, 31 Reese Ave., Colver, PA 15927.
