Karen Statler Rosko Obituary
Karen Lynne Statler Rosko, age 68.
Died at home surrounded by family and close friends succumbing to pulmonary fibrosis. Born in Windber to Dolores & Glenn Statler. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Glenn; and grandson, Eli. Survived by husband, Rick Rosko, enjoying 18 years of love, laughter, & fun; sisters, Cheryl Gasperetti and spouse Robert Gasperetti, Vermont; Lori Sambor, Florida; children, Carrie (Baumgardner) Barron and spouse Troy Barron; Ryan Baumgardner; Travis Baumgardner and spouse Ashley (Yost) Baumgardner; grandchildren, Kavay Thatcher (Tanner), Kendall, Payton, Austin; numerous nieces, nephews; and a great grandchild. Karen was a graduate of Windber High School Class of 1973. She enjoyed waitressing at Rizzo's for 27 years and later managing the concessions at the Silver Drive-In. She had a great love of animals, especially dogs and birds, and above all her constant companion Zoey, her Yorkie. She was a great mother and devoted grandmother. She also loved the people and beaches of her favorite winter escape, Governor's Harbour, Bahamas. Karen was the most compassionate and caring person and had the biggest heart of anybody you'd ever meet. Special thanks to Doc Stotler for many, many house calls and to Cora Pastovic, friend since 5th grade. Thanks to Sherry and all of the nurses of Windber Home Hospice. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be made at SimpleAlternativeCares.com
