Leonard Edward Hartman, Sr.
March 11, 1950 - May 22, 2025
Leonard Edward Hartman Sr. was born March 11, 1950 in Johnstown. Son of the late Mabel and Harry Hartman. Passed away on May 22, 2025 at home surrounded by family.
Survived by wife of 56 years Gail Kinter Hartman, children Carolyn (Randy) Rorer, Lenny (Stacy), Renee, grand children Bob (Ashley) Price, Allegra (Ricky) Bem, Cody (Channing) Rorer, Kyler (Merle) Hartman, Christian (Tatiyana) Crusan, Morgan Crusan, Lauren (Wyatt) and Dalton Hartman, 13 great grandchildren, brother Russell Hartman, sisters Marg Ellis, Hannah (Craig) Rouzer, Theresa (Carl) Settle, Joan (Joe) Kopsic, many nieces and nephews, In-Laws Ed (Jayme) Kinter, Richard Kinter, Terry (Gail) Kinter and Marilyn Pease.
Preceded in death by daughter Laurie Price Wombacher, sisters Nancy Robertson and Twila Moss, brothers Ray, Harry and Jim, mother-in-law Loretta Kinter, brothers-in-law Tom Ellis, John Robertson, Dave Kinter, sisters-in-law Shirley Stiles, Karen Gordon and Barb Kinter.
He retired from Beth Energy Mine 33. Owned and managed GAL Hotel for 20 plus years. He was a Pyrotechnician for Starfire Inc. President of the Blue Goose Sportsman's Club for over 20 years. Len started the Memorial Benches Project placed along the Ghost Town Trail and local parks. Len was the unofficial Mayor of Twin Rocks. He enjoyed helping his community by keeping sidewalks clear of snow.
Viewing will be Tuesday from 2-4PM and 6-8Pm at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where funeral services will be 11AM Wednesday. Interment to follow in Belsano United Brethren Cemetery.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
