Chest Springs, PA - 66, Chest Springs, passed away September 2, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. Lois was born August 24, 1959, in Spangler, the daughter of John and Mary Ruth (Stolz) Weakland. Preceded in death by parents; husband, David Smith; son, Christopher Smith; daughter, Dana Smith; and brothers, Allen, Timothy and Thomas Weakland. Survived by her grandson, Christopher Nash; brother, Fred (Mona) Weakland; niece, Jenny Guzic (Jerry); nephew, Michael (Amanda) Weakland; great-nephew, William Guzic; and great-nieces, Kylie, Laken and Chloe Guzic; Rylee, Katie and Melee Weakland. Member of St. Monica Catholic Church, Chest Springs. Lois worked for many years as a registration clerk at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. Her free time was centered around her grandson, Christopher, who was her whole world. Honoring the request of Lois, there will be no viewing or visitation. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a funeral Mass which will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at St. Monica Church, Rev. Justin Treon officiating. Committal, St. Monica Cemetery.
