Loretta Jean (Joy) Jones, 77, Johnstown, PA was peacefully called home to be with The Lord on October 28, 2018 at Laurelwood Nursing Care Center. Born June 23, 1941 in Johnstown, PA to Arthur L., Sr. and Carrie B. (O'Neil) Joy. Proceeded in death by parents, grandsons Tevin D. Kendrick (January 18, 2016) and Kyfen M. Jones (November 9, 2016), sisters Maxine Y. (Joy) Rose and Audrey L. (Joy) Charlton, Aunt, Catherine "Aunt Kay" Cashaw, Goddaughter & niece Ursula Y. Rose and her beloved family pet Flash (Bassett Hound). Survived by children Maxine L. (Jones) Sealey married to Walter Sealey of NJ, Donald A. Jones married to Delise (Charles) Jones of NY, Gregory M. Jones married to CW2 Katrina U. (Goodwin) Jones of PA, survived by 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, brother Arthur L. Joy, Jr., of OH, Aunt Sara Joy, sister in law Eula Morris, special nephews David Rose & Sam Morris, Jr, special nieces Michele L. Charlton, Melissa L. (Charlton) Clark and Monique L. Charlton. She is also survived by a host of other nieces and nephews, special cousins William, III & Annette Cashaw, Karen Carter Brandon and childhood friend Mary McCray. Loretta was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, a graduate of Johnstown High School class of 1960. Loretta was retired from Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center with over 33yrs of service. Prior to her illness Loretta loved to travel, enjoyed cooking canning and enjoyed numerous family gatherings over the years. Throughout her illness Loretta was shown a tremendous amount of love and concern with prayers, visits, cards and flowers. Special thanks to Walter Sealey, Barbara Cassady (Her Work Sister), Kathi Myers, Laurelwood Nursing Care Center and Grane Hospice. Public viewing will be Thursday, November 1st from 4-8pm at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and again Friday, November 2nd from 9am until time of Homegoing service at 11am. Rev. Maurice Williams, Pastor and Rev. Clyde Williams, Jr will eulogize.
