Loretta Jeanne Stevenson Obituary

Davidsville, PA - 90, of Davidsville, formerly of Johnstown, died October 5, 2025, at Laurel View Village. She was born on June 8, 1935, in Leechburg, Pa., daughter of the late Anthony and Helen (Vargo) Vota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. (Dick) Stevenson. Lori is survived by her two daughters, Carol Russell, and husband, Richard, of Burke, Va., and Nancy Golden, and husband, Mark, of Greensburg, Pa.; grandchildren, Andrew and Jonathan Russell, and Mitch and Sarah Golden. Lori was a 1958 graduate of the Indiana State Teacher's College with a degree in elementary education. She taught primarily in the Ligonier Valley School District. She was very proud that she was able to teach children to read and loved doing fun and creative activities with her students. Lori enjoyed doing cross-stitch, playing tennis and bridge, and was an avid reader. She and her husband Dick spent cherished time with many good friends in Punta Gorda, Florida, after retiring. Her family will miss her immensely and will often think of the many special memories shared together over the years. Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. Thursday at Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford St. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Westmont Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Martin Ankrum officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Loretta Stevenson to the Cambria County Library, 248 Main Street, Johnstown, PA 15901.
