Lucy M. Carpinello, 89, of Hastings, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg surrounded by her loving children.
She was born on April 4, 1931 in Hastings, the daughter of the late Anthony and Amelia (Thomas) Becker. On May 24, 1952 in Saint Bernard Church, Hastings she married the love of her life Henry Carpinello. Their union of 41 years ended on December 6, 1993 with Henry's passing.
Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, great grandma and homemaker. Her greatest joy in life was knowing her family was taken care of- she was blessed to be able to seen many of her grandchildren graduate from college, get married and start families of their own.
She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, her home was filled with many of quilts she made and these were often gifts shared with others. Her other hobbies included cooking, baking, canning and gardening.
Lucy was an active member of Saint Bernard Church, Hastings. She volunteered over the years teaching RCIA classes with the church. She was also a member of the Cherry Tree Civic Club, Susquehanna Election Board, and Catholic Daughters of America 722.
She is survived by her four children: Henrietta Hasson and her husband Paul of Mentor, OH, Maureen Paronish and her husband Paul of Cresson, PA, Gregory Carpinello, and his wife Marie of Hastings, PA, and Lisa Pavlock and her husband Drew of Warrenton, VA; eleven grandchildren: Todd Hasson, Eric Hasson, Jared (Avery) Hasson, Courtney Paronish, Marc (Sarah) Paronish, Amanda (Adam) DeSalvo, Brianne (Justin) Baker, Caitlin Miller, Zachary Carpinello, Tyler Pavlock and Kayla Pavlock; eleven great grandchildren: Ayden Hasson, Henry Hasson, Brayden, Easton and Greyson Paronish, Quinn DeSalvo, Brooks and Briar Baker, Caleb, Wyatt and Sawyer Miller and her soon to be twelfth great grandchild Harrison Hasson in December 2020; she is also survived by four of her siblings: Gerald Becker, Mildred (Nick) Carpinello, Edna Mae Stiffler and Thomas (Ruth) Becker and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings: Blair Becker, Ernest Becker and Bernie Becker.
At the wishes of the family a private funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Bernard Church, Hastings with Fr. Jeremiah G. Lange, O.S.B officiating. Interment will be in Saint Bernard Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Saint Bernards Church, Hastings.
