Mark Alan Maley
August 6, 1960 - October 11, 2025
Mark Alan Maley, 65, of Latrobe, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Born August 6, 1960, in Johnstown, he was the son of the late William P. and Patricia (Ernst) Maley.
Mark graduated from Bishop McCourt High School and the University of Pittsburgh with degrees in Respiratory Therapy and Healthcare Administration. He started his career caring for patients as a respiratory therapist and advanced through the years to become the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at Latrobe Hospital.
An avid Pittsburgh sports fan, he never missed watching a Pirates, Pens, Steelers, or Pitt Panthers game. Mark loved the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, or spending time at CCC - a favorite family spot. No matter what he was doing, Mark loved having his favorite music playing and a cold Coors Light in his hand!
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his brothers, Tim and Denny, and his brother-in-law, Kipp Lease.
Mark is survived by two wonderful daughters, Heather Kuhns (Jody), of Blairsville, and Alyssa Sabapathi (Prashant), of Ellicott City, Md. Not a day went by that he did not reach out to his girls - from a cheerful good morning to a loving good night text. He leaves behind his wife, Vicki (Betts) Maley, and two grandchildren. He took great pride in Macey Kuhns who followed in his footsteps by attending his alma mater, and in Nikhil Sabapathi, his beloved first grandson. Mark is also survived by his two sisters, Kathy Gertz (Jim), of Johnstown, and Susie Maley, of St. Michaels; in-laws, John and Donna Betts; sisters-in-law, Beth Hartshorn (Jeff), Tracy Clawson (Gary), and Jodi Lease; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will be private. Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
