Johnstown, PA - 88, of Johnstown, passed away September 7, 2025, at Forest Hills Personal Care Home surrounded by her loving family. Born September 25, 1936, in Madison, South Dakota, the daughter of Morris and Elvera (Steffenson) Elmstrand. Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Edwin F. Harrington Jr.; sister, Diane; brother, Rodean; brother-in-law, Barry and sister-in-law Toni Harrington; and sister-in-law, Nancy Urban. Survived by her loving children, Rhonda (William) Stibich, Linda (Michael) Grandinetti, Edwin Harrington (Patricia), Diane Harrington all of Johnstown, and Jim (Amanda) Harrington of Davidsville; grandchildren, Stephen (Dina), Michelle (Lou), Lauren (Travis), Brian (Katherine), Colin (Leigh), Renee (Joseph), Eric (Amanda), Michael, Allie, Christian, and Ian; great-grandchilden, Bailee, Sloan, Delaney, Mason, Madison, Cade, Emery, Kai, and Shae; brother, Charles (Kay) Elmstrand; brother-in-law, Fran Urban; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marlys made sure every moment spent with her family was memorable. However, her Christmas gatherings with her family were among the most memorable times spent together. They were always filled with laughter and love. Marlys greatest joy in life was her family. Marlys was a member at St. Francis of Assisi Parish where she spent her time volunteering and teaching CCD. The family would like to sincerely thank Nancy Locher for her unwavering dedication and compassionate care as Marlys' care giver. Her commitment made it possible for Marlys to remain in the comfort of her home for as long as possible, surrounded by warmth, dignity, and love. Also Special thanks to Forest Hills Personal Care Home, AseraCare Hospice, and Dr. Maharajh for all the support, care, and love they provided Marlys and her family. Marlys was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will truly be missed by many. Friends will be received Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. (Broad Street). Funeral mass will be held Thursday September 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Rev. Anthony F. Spilka FF OFM C. Committal will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
