Ft. Myers, FL - Mary Kay Belin, of Ft. Myers Florida,, passed away surrounded by family on October 12, 2025, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born Mary Kay Hunter on February 3, 1944 in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, she lived a life marked by dedication, intellect, and love.


Mary Kay was a devoted educator, teaching English in Baltimore County Public Schools for 30 years. Her passion for literature and learning shone through in her leading the development of the gifted and talented high school curriculum for English in that school system, helping countless students to reach their full potential.


She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Ray Belin; her son, Sam, and daughter-in-law, Patricia of Cocoa Beach, FL; and cherished granddaughter, Sofia of Savannah, GA. Her legacy of kindness and wisdom will live on in their hearts.


All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a cancer research organization in Mary Kay's memory.
