LaPORTA - Mary Polsi (D'Agostino), 92, Scalp Level, went to be with God surrounded by her loving family Sept. 30, 2012. Born April 18, 1920, in Massachusetts, daughter of Frank and Rose (Petronio) D'Agostino. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Joseph LaPorta Sr., daughter, Rosalie Jones, and husband, Mervin; son-in-law, Donald E. Crum; daughter-in-law, Neata (Atkins) LaPorta; grandchildren, Lenny Paul LaPorta and Michelle (LaPorta) Crone; great-grandson, infant boy Jones; and brothers, Dominick, Fortunato, Frank and John. Survived by children, Leonard LaPorta, and wife, Lois (Davis), Davidsville; Mary Ann, wife of Chuck Wyandt, Hooversville; Josephine, wife of Bill Savering, Scalp Level; Polly Ann, and special friend, Vic, Richland; Kathy, wife of the late Charley Foster, Fishertown; Joseph LaPorta Jr., and wife, Veronica (Furcho), Windber; and Frank LaPorta, and special friend, Theresa, Rock Mount, Va. Also survived by granddaughter, Lynnette LaPorta, who Mary raised, Northern Cambria; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. Sister of Katherine Adams, West Virginia; Josephine Jerin, Florida; and Angie Horner, Windber. Mary was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed reading and embroidering. She especially loved her kids and animals. Member of the former St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Windber. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, the Very Rev. Leonard E. Voytek, VF, officiating. Interment, St. John Catholic Cemetery, Geistown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LaurelWood Special Care Unit or Palliative Care of Memorial Hospital in Mary's memory.
