Ligonier, PA - HINDMAN - Matt, 76, of Ligonier, passed away on May 7, 2025, at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born June 26, 1948, in Johnstown, son of the late James I. and Eleanor G. (Hays) Hindman. Preceded in death by daughter, Courtney Hindman, and granddaughter, Judith K. Kradle. Survived by loving wife, Judith C. (Wiley) Hindman; daughter, Ashley Hindman, of Ligonier; sister, Linda McLeod, of Pittsburgh; and sister-in-law, Susan Wiley, of Johnstown. Matt was a proud United States Coast Guard veteran. He was later employed as a federal mine and safety inspector for AK Coal Resources. Matt was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church in Somerset. He enjoyed woodworking, smoking meats, and feeding people. He will be greatly missed by those in his life, especially by his friend, Anthony. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes, 1521 Frankstown Road, Johnstown, PA 15902. A procession to Grandview Cemetery for a committal service will follow. Pastor Barry Ferguson, officiating. Veteran rituals by VFW Menoher Post 155.
