Windber, PA - BARTOLOMUCCI - Mona Jean (Dunn), 86, Windber, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on Jan. 19, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Dunn and Anna Mae (Orris) Furgiuele, and stepdaughter of the late Emelio Furgiuele. Mona was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Joseph Bartolomucci, whom she married on June 13, 1959, and who passed on March 1, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Sandy (Jim †) Stern and Beverly (Sam) Langley, and also son-in-law, Brian Grumbling. She is survived by her loving children, Janice Zeigler (Windber); Patricia (Brian †) Grumbling (Windber); Peter (Annie Streepy) Bartolomucci (Windber); Christine (Richard) Bachorz (Lititz); and Theresa (Brian) Berkebile (Meyersdale); grandchildren, Sara (Eric) Berkey, Robert (Mindy) Zeigler, Nicholas (Kyrstin) Grumbling, Alex Grumbling, Ashlynne (Derek) Berkebile, Makalah (Kyle Kimble) Zankey, Giovanni Bartolomucci, Alicia (Sid) Chamala, Amanda (Seth) Miller, Derek (Ashlynne) Berkebile, Jacob (Samantha) Berkebile; and adored great-grandchildren, Adalyn Berkey, Jacob and Julia Zeigler, Maleena Grumbling and one on the way, Brantley, Bryson, and Bowen Grumbling, Aarya Chamala and Carson Miller, Logan, Landon, Landrey, Zoey, and Dylann Berkebile. She is also survived by her siblings, David (Cheryl) Furgiuele and Pam (Mark) Gyurik. Family was the foundation of Mona's life. She showed a special kind of love to each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, never missing a chance to offer support, warmth, or a listening ear. Mona worked at several establishments throughout the Windber area, including the Windber Area School District as a lunch lady, Mimo's Pizza, Galina's Pizza, and Leone's Market - where she was known for making each sub with care and love. Her greatest joy came from her time volunteering with Windber Hospice, where she compassionately helped patients in their final days and gave strength to grieving families. Mona was an extraordinary woman whose kindness, strength, and devotion to her loved ones will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. Member St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber, Father Rod Soha, TOR, pastor. Committal, church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mona's memory may be made to Windber Hospice 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, Pa. 15963.
