Hempfield Township, PA - COLSON - Paul D., age 70, of Hempfield Township, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in his home. He was born on Nov. 22, 1955, in Johnstown, a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Stenger) Colson. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, honorably serving during the Vietnam era. He retired from a career in data security, but his favorite job was being a grandpa to Grayson, Sawyer, and Tyler. Paul also enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid pool player who belonged to multiple leagues over the years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Lynn (Koontz) Colson; two loving daughters, Jennifer Hood (Jeremiah) and Laura Swick (Steven); cherished grandchildren, Grayson and Sawyer Hood and Tyler Swick; siblings, Rose Closson (Sam) and Joseph "Ernie" Colson (Pam); and sister-in-law, Jayne Knupp. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Ken Colson, and best friend, John Freshwater. Friends will be received Friday, April 10, 2026, from 3 p.m. until the time of funeral liturgy at 4 p.m. at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home Inc., 3343 Route 130, P.O. Box 465, Harrison City. Military honors will immediately follow. Private burial will take place at a later date.
