Carrolltown, Pa. - 87, of Carrolltown, passed away August 23, 2025, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by family. Born July 18, 1938, in Spangler, the daughter of the late V. Gerald and Mary Grace (Farabaugh) Sherry. Preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Yost and Jerry Happ; brother, Gerald J. and his wife Sylvia Sherry; sister-in-law, Roxanne Sherry; and brother-in-law Dan Bilko. Survived by daughter, Sandra (Michael) McCoy, of Doylestown, and grandson, Nathaniel McCoy. Rebecca is also survived by brothers and sisters: James F. (Tanya) Sherry, Florida; Ann L. Bilko, Carrolltown; Carol R. (Dave) Staebler, Smithsburg, Md.; and Patrick D. (Kathy) Sherry, Carrolltown. Also Earl's family: Jimmy and Jan Yost; Jerry's family: Mary Pat, Kathy, Vinnie (Judy), Stephen (Kim), and Mike (Beth) Happ, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rebecca was a graduate of Seton Hill College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, and Slippery Rock University, where she attained her Master's degree in Special Education. In her early career, Becky had served the order of the Sisters of Charity, and for 12 years she was "Sister Rebecca Marie." Following her career as a nun, she was a longtime Special Education Teacher for the Bucks County, PA Public Schools. She loved travel, her teaching career, was an avid reader, and a talented musician that played in the Quakertown Community Band. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank caregivers Barbara Antonio and Lauren Johnston for their kindness and compassion to Becky. Friends will be received from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug 28, at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held; and from 9 a.m. Friday, Aug 29, at Carrolltown in the St. Boniface Chapel, located at St Benedict Church, until the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Rev.
