Hollidaysurg - ARFORD - Reginald S., 66, of Hollidaysburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, at UPMC Passavant, McCandless. Born in Altoona, he was the son of the late Clair R. and Louise (Brown) Arford. Reginald is survived by his loving sister, Susan M. Arford, of Hastings, and numerous cousins, including Luther Brown, Margaret Ebersole, and Jan Arford. He was preceded in death by his aunts, Alma Arford, Theda Arford, Grace Brown, and Mae Brown. A 1977 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, Reginald went on to earn two bachelor's degrees from Penn State University's College of Earth and Mineral Science: one in ceramic science engineering in 1981, and another in fuel science in 1985. During his college years, he also worked as a radio DJ and served as an equipment engineer. He later retired as a truck driver for various companies and was pursuing classes to become a lay minister. Reginald was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church, of Hollidaysburg, where he had previously sung in the choir. He was also a member of The Friends of East Broad Top Railroad. He enjoyed participating in Revolutionary War re-enactments as a German Hessian Regiment member and had a keen interest in computers. Previously active in the Blair County Republican Party, Reginald cherished time spent with family and friends. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona PA 16601, where a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Private interment will take place at Alto Reste Park, Altoona. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Reginald's name to the Guillain-Barre' Syndrome Foundation International, 375 East Elm St., Suite 101, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
