Loretto, PA - HOLZ - Rita J., 82, Loretto, passed away on Dec. 9, 2025, at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center surrounded by family. Born on March 11, 1943, in Spangler, daughter of Othmar and Ruth (Little) Ropp. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Sandy Brawley. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard H. Holz; children, Krista Holz, Richard (Amy) Holz, and John (Faith) Holz; grandchildren, Richard, Eric (Nina), Amelia, Bethany, Guinevere, and Lincoln Holz; siblings, Margie (Wayne) Harpster, Jim (Donna) Ropp, Dolores (Paul) Sasway, Chuck (Linda) Ropp, Linda (Al) Pittsinger, Earl (Aileen) Ropp, Pat (Peg) Ropp, Paul (Joyce Ann) Ropp, Joyce (John) Kline, and Jane (Ken) Farabaugh; brother-in-law, Jim Brawley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rita was a graduate of Harmony High School, and was a homemaker. She served in the United States Navy, and was a member of the Carrolltown American Legion Post 506. She also volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul. Rita enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, canning, and everything about the outdoors, especially spending time on their land. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 Fifth Ave, Patton, Pa. 16668. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday Dec. 15, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Basilica Church, 321 St. Mary St., Loretto, Pa. 15940.
