Robert Dale Mervine

MERVINE - Robert Dale, 74, of Nanty Glo, passed away on Aug. 10, 2025, at his residence. He was the son of the late Clair and Jessie (Clark) Mervine, and was born on Nov. 16, 1950, in Strongstown, Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Jeffrey Robert Mervine, and his brother, Ken Mervine. Robert is survived by his wife, MaryAnn (Kotelnicki) Mervine; his daughter, Sabrina, and her husband, Edward Dilginis, of Portage; and his three grandchildren: Lacie Dilginis, Dylan Dilginis, and Kristina Holcomb. He is also survived by his sister, Gloria, and her husband, Dennis Olsavsky, of Alabama. He worked at Bethlehem Mines and served as the police chief in Loretto. Later, he was employed by the Home Depot. Robert was a United States Air Force veteran and served in the Vietnam War. Robert enjoyed riding his motorcycle and traveling. He also liked hunting, camping, and hiking. As per Robert's request, there will be no services held. Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home and Cremation Services are handling arrangements. Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
