Robert Allen Smith Obituary

Robert Allen "Al" Smith of Grove City passed at home on Monday morning, JAN 27, 2020 following a 5-month illness. He was 68.


Al was born in Hastings, PA (Cambria Co.) on NOV 13, 1951 to William H. and RitaM. (Dumm) Smith. He married Sandra J. Jamison on AUG 15, 2001.


Al retired from Federal Engineering, Inc., Fairfax, VA where he was a public safety consultant. He previously worked for Mobilcom, Meadville where he was a radiotechnician for 25 years.


He was a graduate of Cambria Heights High School. Al enjoyed gardening, landscaping, writing poetry, sailing, fishing and spending time at the beach at Chincoteague Island, VA and Ocracoke, NC.


Al is survived by his wife Sandra at home; 3 children, Trevor Smith, Pittsburgh, Sarah Sennett and husband Andy, Lancaster, NY and Lauren Garbacz and husband Michael, Greenbackville, VA; his Mother, Rita M. Smith, Hastings, PA; 2 grandchildren, Zoey

and Elizabeth Sennett; 2 sisters, Karen Adamik and husband Jim, Indio, CA and Linda Smith, Atlanta, GA; and 2 brothers, Bryan Smith, Hastings, PA and William Smith, Jr., Altoona, PA. His father, William H. Smith, Sr., preceded Al in death.
