He was born on February 9, 1934, in Johnstown. Ronald served his country as a SP4 Medic in the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Riley in north-central Kansas from 1956-1958. Ronald was a proud retiree of Lee Hospital - Johnstown, with over 35 years of service.
Ronald was united with loved ones, including his beloved wife of 65 years, Dorothy L. (Colner) Shawley, in the presence of the Lord. Surviving are his children: Ronald J. (Jane), Bernadette DiMauro (Charlie), Kimberly Ryder (Jeffrey), Joseph M. (Dianna), and Richard P. (Michelle); grandchildren: David and Jonathan DiMauro, Daniel Stiffler (Jenna), Rebecca Blair (Jeramy), Jason Stiffler (Robyn), and Brittany Shawley; and great-grandchildren: Jackson, Roman, Xavier, Gabriella, Landen, Jolee.
Ronald loved fishing, campfires and mountain pies at Woodland Park, hiking, playing his harmonica, picking blackberries, singing and listening to hymns, handyman projects, Hershey kisses, pretzels, reading his Bible, and sharing his devout faith in Jesus.
Our Dad was a self-sacrificing man of faith, reminding us often, to trust in Jesus, pray, and to have faith and confidence in God's Word. This was the best advice our Dad could give! We are forever grateful, Pops. Love you Dad, see you in Glory!
