77, Hollidaysburg formerly of Loretto died April 7, 2024, at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. Born March 23, 1947, in Altoona the daughter of the late and Joseph and Rose (Heiss) Spinner. Preceded in death by a brother Paul Survived by her husband John whom she married January 4, 1975, and a son Jay "JJ", brother Joe (Suzette) and sister Donna (Spinner) Hall and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose enjoyed crocheting, bingo, a Steeler fan, wee bowling loved animals and a strong devotion to the Carmelite Nuns. Rose was an elementary teacher at Penn Cambria for 35 years. Graduate of Bishop Carroll High School in 1965, St. Francis College in 1971 and Indiana University with a master's degree in Elementary Education. Rose was a member of the adult choir, cantor, reader, and parish council at the Basilica of St. Michael Catholic Church, Loretto where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 pm Thursday the Rev. John Byrnes celebrant. Family and friends please meet at church on Thursday. Committal St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson. Friends received from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street. Gallitzin where a vigil service will be held Wednesday evening.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
