Johnstown, PA - Wright - Ruth Marie, 85, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord, October 7, 2025, at Westmont Woods Personal Care Facility. Born June 28, 1940, to the late James M. and Ida (Dunmyer) Dougherty. Also preceded in death by sisters, Betty Truscello, Marjory Magdelenic, Barbara Zeglin, Peggy Riek, and brothers, John "Jack" and Patrick Dougherty. Survived by her three sons, James, married to Anh; Kenneth "Marty" Wright; and Brian, married to Mary Ellen; grandchildren, Brigitte and Angelique "Angel"; Emily, Grace and Elizabeth "Lizze," and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was an avid animal lover, especially her dog, Beau, and she had a tremendous love for horses and horseback riding throughout her life. She was a graduate of the former Johnstown Catholic High School. Ruth was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Moxham. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, especially visits from her niece, Lisa (Riek) Shellhammer and BINGO nights with her niece, Cathy (Dougherty) Edwards. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until time of service at noon on Saturday, October 18, at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, Fr. David S. Peles. Private entombment will be at Richland Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, 4771 E Loop Rd, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 in memory of Ruth.
