Freeman - Scott Samuel, of Amesville, Ohio, formerly of Johnstown, Pa., ended his valiant struggle with ALS, as he journeyed home with God's grace and mercy on March 5, 2025. Born in Somerset, Pa., on Dec. 13, 1969, Scott is survived by his mother, Susan (Francis) Frear, of Murrysville, Pa., formerly of Johnstown, and father, Larry (Sue) Freeman, of Berlin, Pa. Also survived by his sweet partner, Stephanie Robinson, of Amesville, Ohio; his cherished son, Rylan Date; his much-loved sister and brother, Kelly (Gene Zimmerman) and Ryan (Vicki Digiannurio); and dear nephews, Olandis Freeman and Jonah Freeman.
He was so very blessed to be loved and cared for by so many family and friends especially his sister and brother; aunt, Melissa Greguric; uncle, Arlow Julian; cousins, Kimberli Buckshaw and Joseph Atria; and dear friends, Hank and Hilary Date, Robert Lockheed and Larry Crane. Scott wanted to be sure that his friends from "the 'hood" in Westmont know how much he loved them.
Scott was a graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School and the University of California - Santa Cruz. Scott was a longtime volunteer with Passion Works Studio in Athens, Ohio, where he shared his talents and love of art by helping the special clients with developmental differences. Music was a great part of his life, and he enjoyed a very eclectic range of genres.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Scott from 2-5 p.m. May 4, 2025, at the Clubhouse at the Village of Clover Ridge in Murrysville, Pa. 15668.
Through all the adversity in your life and after each crisis, you have managed to return to the essence of your soul - your gentle nature, your grace and forgiveness for others, your wonderful wit, your innate ability to find the goodness in people, and your fortitude throughout your long and difficult journey as you fought this insidious, debilitating disease.
Scott, we are so proud of you, so grateful for you, and love you so very much! You will always be in our hearts.
