Tyrone, PA - ECKENRODE - Shawn Michael, 42, Tyrone, passed away July 19, 2026. Born Oct. 26, 1983, in Altoona, son of Adrian II "Eggs" and Marcie (Wilson) Eckenrode, of Loretto, PA. He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Adrian and Constance Eckenrode, and maternal grandparents, Gerald and Shirley Wilson. He is survived by his parents; his loving wife of almost 20 years, Elissa (Krug) Eckenrode; children, Dylan Eckenrode (Kara) and Ella Eckenrode; siblings, Scott (Steph) Eckenrode, and children, Ethan and Bryce; Corey (Ashley) Eckenrode, and children, Declan and Cullen; and Ashley Edmudnson ,and children, Addyson, Adryana, Brantley, and Ashtyn; father and mother-in-law, Terry and Janice (Crossman) Krug; sister-in-law, Lauren (Matt) Parker, and children, Madison and Ariana; and grandmother-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" Crossman. He was employed at Penn State main campus HVAC for 17 years. Shawn enjoyed hunting, fishing, cards, cornhole, cigars, coaching softball, camping, side by side riding, and spending time with family. Shawn was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Gibbons-Penksa Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. at S. Michael's Basilica Church, 321 St. Mary St., Loretto, PA 15940, Father Malachi Van Tassell, officiating.
