East Taylor, PA - Meredith - Shirley, 82, of East Taylor, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at home surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 25, 1943, in Johnstown, Pa., daughter of John and Mary Gertrude (Yingling) Piker. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald J. Meredith; her parents; brothers; James "Babe" Clark, John Thomas Piker; sisters, Dorothy "Tootie" Podalak, Mary Ann (Honey) Reighard; brother-in-law, Donald Reighard. She is survived by her daughter, Kristie (Andy) Gunsallus; son, Shawn (Corrie) Meredith; grandchildren, Ava and Addison Meredith; sister-in-law, Irene Piker; nieces, Michelle (Robert) Margetan, Donna (Keith) Dick, Brenda Reighard, Jackie (Dan) Beckett, Becky (Stephen) Dunn, Kellie Grove, Cindy (John) Neese, Debra Sanders, Melissa (Joe) Mocker; nephews, Tom (Mary Jo) Reighard, Rob Reighard, Irvin (Anita) Meredith, Scott (Ruth) Piker; and by many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and special friend, Ralph-Susie Myers. Shirley was a 1961 graduate of Conemaugh High School. Shirley worked for social services at Conemaugh Hospital. A special thank you to Windber Hospice; Dr. Reddy from John Murtha Cancer Center; nieces, Michelle (Robert) Margetan and Kellie Grove; cousin, Kim (Todd) Crowe; neighbors, Monica (Mark) Berkey, Bill (Lynn) Yingling, Erma Yingling, and special furry buddy, Cooper Crowe for helping during this difficult time. Shirley was an avid duckpin bowler for Conemaugh and Austrian Hall bowling league. Shirley was a big contributor for the fundraisers, especially the fish fry at the Church of the Transfiguration. Shirley was an active member and practicing Catholic for the Transfiguration. She was an avid reader, cook, baker in her spare time. Donations may be made to the Church of the Transfiguration in Shirley's memory. At the family's request there will be no viewing or visitation.
