Twila Mae (Hughes) Claycomb Obituary

Davidsville, PA - CLAYCOMB - Twila Mae (Hughes), 98, passed into the presence of Jesus on Dec. 10, 2025. She was born on May 21,1927, to Elmer and Emma Hughes on the Summerhill Township family farm, and remained proud and connected to her Welsh heritage and a faith and family first life. She was preceded in death by beloved husband, Joseph; parents; Tom, Fred, Roger, and Isaac; as well as sisters, Anne Charles, Marion Templeton, and Roberta Evans. She is survived by children, Thomas (Karen), Monroeville; Kathy (Adrian) Keafer, Johnstown; and Cindy (Ted) Grady, Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Nancy Stephenson and Carolyn Maurer; grandchildren, Emily, Adam, Meredith, Seth, Morgan, Sarah, and Jenna; great-and grandchildren, Rakiem, Tennyson, Raymond, Jude, Twila, Killian, Maddox, Miles, and Aria. She was a retired home economics teacher with the Forest Hills School District and a member of Kaufman Church in Davidsville. She most enjoyed family time, traveling with Joe, watching sports, Farm Women friends, exercise time with neighbors, knotting with Women in Mission at Kaufman, and playing cards and games with friends at Laurelview Village. The family would like thank the personal care staff at Laurelview Village and Windber Hospice (especially Jake and Geita) for their exemplary care and love for Twila and our family. Visitation on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025, from 10 until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Kaufman Church, 916 Miller Picking Road, Davidsville, with Pastors Michael Dean and Eric Lasure, officiating. In lieu of flowers, please direct gifts to Johnstown Christian School or the Laurelview Village Caring Fund.
