Freidhoff - Walter G., 88, of Johnstown, passed away March 21, 2025. Born April 19, 1936, to the late George and Elizabeth (Rosenbaum) Freidhoff. Also preceded in death by loving wife of 66 years, Patricia, who passed away on January 11, 2025; and brothers, Wayne, Raymond and Paul Freidhoff.

He is survived by children, Carl Freidhoff (Pamela); Kurt Freidhoff (Kathy); Joel Freidhoff; and Laurie Reed (Frank); brothers, Herbert Freidhoff (Patricia); Wilfred Freidhoff (Judy); sisters, Georgeann Freidhoff; Delores Simasek (Gene); 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Walter was a 1954 graduate of Franklin High School and then went on to the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. He and his wife started Hoff Homes, Hoff Builders Supply, and Hoff Enterprises, Inc. He was President of the Home Builders Association of the Alleghenies and was President of the Pennsylvania Builders Association in 1988. Walter's business built 117 homes in this area. He was an inventor with many registered patents. He sang in the Johnstown Community Chorus, and was involved with Habitat for Humanity, and the JUMP Program. He also was a former member of St. Rochus Parish and current member of the Ferndale United Methodist Church. He enjoyed sailing at Prince Gallitzen Park and enjoyed volunteering in many capacities. Walter is going to be sadly missed by all. The family will receive friends Saturday March 29, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Road, Johnstown, PA 15902. Pastor Dennis Zimmerman, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grand Halle on Broad Street or the JUMP Program.
